It is with bitter disappointment that we have decided to stop classes until further notice.
This is because Liverpool remains on the list of areas where the new Covid-19 variant (known as Delta) is spreading and is subject to updated Covid guidance.
In particular, the guidance is to keep 2 metres apart from people that you do not live with (unless you have formed a support bubble with them), including friends and family you don’t live with. This differs from areas not on the Delta variant list, where you can make a personal choice on whether to keep your distance from friends and family. The guidance is also to minimise travel in and out of affected areas. We also note that Covid-19 cases in Liverpool continue to rise (273 cases in 100,000 this week) and we are anecdotally aware that an increasing number of people are needing to self-isolate.
We will continue to review government advice and infection rates and re-open as soon as we feel it is safe to do so.
Realistically however, Ullet Road church will be closed 26/07 until 06/09, so it is likely that we won’t have any lessons until 07/09 at the earliest.
We might organise some summer workshops with Paris Allen in August, at a different place, if the situation improves. Watch this space!
We were all very happy to be back and so are deeply frustrated to have come to this unpalatable decision. We feel however that it is the right thing to do.
The vaccine roll-out is undoubtably having a positive impact and we are very hopeful that we will be able to be able to re-open in September. We look forward to dancing with you all then!
Until then, stay safe and have a great summer.
